STUDIO NIRO is an Edinburgh based
architecture and design practice established by Nicky Thomson and Rowan Mackinnon-Pryde in 2018. They founded STUDIO NIRO with the ambition to expand the field of disciplines and mediums across which they work, be this a building in a landscape, an object in a room or an image on a page.

Between them, Nicky and Rowan have over 30 years of experience in design practice, delivering projects across a range of scales and sectors; from visual identities for start-ups and small refurbishments to large scale public buildings. STUDIO NIRO work with clients to develop architectural, interior, exhibition and graphic design projects with a concentration on making beautiful spatial, visual and tactile contributions to the everyday lives of our clients.
STUDIO NIRO is a RIAS Chartered Practice. In addition to a host of private commissions, our clients include Aberdeenshire Council; British Council Scotland; GAMIS Glasgow Artists Moving Image Studios; Griffin Schools Trust; Hub SE for City of Edinburgh Council; Pier Arts Centre; The Scottish Fisheries Museum.
